KOLKATA, 26 OCT: Goa Trinamul Congress today published People’s Chargesheet at Panaji against both BJP and Congress government despite police permission at the last moment was withdrawn.
Trinamul chief Mamata Banerjee reacting to sudden Goa BJP administration decision to withdraw the permission to hold meeting at Azad Maidan, Panaji, said, “It is undemocratic. But BJP does not believe in democracy. Let them withdraw permission, we are street fighters. We will take the fight to the street.”
Mamata Banerjee will visit Goa on 28 October. Like 2021 Assembly poll, where Trinamul Congress released the slogan Bangla Nijer Mayekey Chai, in Goa too Trinamul Congress today launched its election campaign slogan #GoenchiNaviSakal- the new dawn in Goa.
The Trinamul Congress is also playing a video where Mamata Banerjee is ushering a new dawn in Goa. She said the expiary date of Modi government is imminent.
Everything changes even in nature there are changes so why not the BJP government at Goa and also at the Centre? she asked.
In that video she also lashed out at the Centre for its Draconian Farm Laws and insolent enough to ignore the farmers’s agitation and even the minister’s son mowed four farmers to death at Lakhimpur Kheri.
Today, Trinamul Lok Sabha MPs Saugata Roy, Mahua Moitra, Trinamul Rajya Sabha MP and party’s national spokesperson who is in charge of Goa along with former union minister Babul Supriya released People’s Chargesheet against the previous governments specially the 10 years of BJP rule.
Trinamul Congress also released a CD showing various grievances of the people of Goa.
Mr Saugata Roy, who released the People’s Chargesheet stated that people of Goa alleged that their own land has been taken away from them by the corporates.
During the BJP rule, they complained Goa does not remain for Goans, alleged some local men and women.
They also complained during both Congress and BJP rule, the economy of Goa is dwindling.
The youths in Goa said that most of them are out of job, the soaring price of fuel, cooking gas, privatization and corporatization of rail, Air India Defence and PSUs have reduced the scope for employment.
The infrastructure is in shambles, the important connecting roads are full of potholes, Mr Roy said.
He also slammed the BJP government for dearth in supply of drinking water. There is water scarcity in Goa.
Mr Roy also pointed that environmentalists and social activists are raising their voices against the BJP government against encroachment in forest area by the corporates of other states. They alleged that the BJP government is allowing them to buildup two infrastructure projects thus destroying the forest lands.
The tribals and Bhumi Putras are agitating against usurp of their lands by some corporate bigwigs.
Moreover, the mining has been stopped for sometimes and people are out of job and they are demanding immediate beginning of mining.
In the People’s Chargesheet, it was also pointed out that law and order is in nadir and Goa had become new hotspots of crime like murder and rape. Both healthcare and education are in shambles. There is no benefit for senior citizens also.
