KRISHNAGAR, 12 FEB: Nadia District Trinamul Congress Minority Cell on Saturday has suspended its Krishnagar Town president, Anupam Biswas from his post for his anti-party activities.
In a Press conference held in MP’s office in Krishnagar, Julfikar Ali Khan, president of the organisation announced that Mr Biswas has been removed from his post as he violated party guidelines and is contesting as an Independent candidate from his ward for Krishnagar municipal election.
The suspension notice was displayed in presence of the party’s Krishnagar Town president Sisir Karmakar, former chairman of Krishnagar municipality, Ashim Saha and the party leader, Sumalya Ghosh.
Holding the suspension order, Mr Karmakar said, “Mr Biswas violated the party guidelines where it has been clearly mentioned that no one would be allowed to contest as an Independent candidate against the party candidate.”
Mr Khan said if any one loves the party then he or she should follow the party guidelines and instructions.
When asked, Mr Biswas said, “I still have trust on the party suprimo Mamata Banerjee. She once told that party workers are the base of our party and she has become a party suprimo because they have selected her. Accordingly, party workers have selected me to contest the election and so, I have filed my nomination as an Independent candidate. Moreover, I have taken a leave from the party for few days.”
