KRISHNAGAR, 14 SEP: The Trinamul Congress MLA Bimalendu Singha Roy today laid the foundation stone of the much-awaited auditorium in Karimpur in presence of the party’s MP Abu Taher Khan, Krishnagar MP Mahua Moitra, Nadia district magistrate Shashank Sethi and other dignitaries.
After his win in the assembly polls from Karimpur, chief minister Mamata Banerjee announced that a sum of Rs 5 crore will be allotted for the development of the Karimpur assembly constituency.
Accordingly, Miss Banerjee had asked Mr Roy for which purpose he would like to use the fund for the sake of Karimpur people. Keeping the version of local residents in mind, Mr Roy then sent a proposal to build an auditorium in Karimpur to the chief minister which she later granted.
Today, Mr Roy in presence of district magistrate and party’s MP laid the foundation stone of the proposed auditorium.
