KOLKATA, 22 OCT: Trinamul Congress Rajya Sabha MP and in charge of Trinamul Tripura Congress Susmita Deb was attacked brutally by the BJP goons after she started her campaign Trinamul for Tripura in West Tripura.
Not only Susmita Deb was.attacked and her vehicle was ransacked but also I-PAC members who were there were also attacked and.their phones were forcefully taken over by BJP.
Mr Ashishlal Singh, Tripura Trinamul Congress steering committee member stated “Once again Biplab Deb, Tripura CM proved that he cannot bear the presence of Trinamul Congress in Tripura.”
He said, “People of Triupra will give a befitting response to this barbaric attack.”
He also urged the police of Tripura to be proactive and act accordingly and should stop acting as a mere spectator. “This collapse of law and order is unacceptable. We demand justice.
It is learnt that Dev sustained physical injury and also went to Amtuli police station near Amtuli Bazar in West Tripura district. Even, the I-PAC employees present in the area were also ruthlessly attacked by the BJP workers.
Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev asked, “When will this attack on Opposition leaders stop? Is this not a democratic country? “She said Trupura’s ‘Jungal Raj’ is becoming more and more apparent. She said, “If this is what happens to our leaders what is the security situation of the people in Tripura.
Trinamul Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee said,”Duare Gunda Raj attack on political opponents is setting new records. Physically manhandling a sitting female Rajya Dabha MP, Sushmita Deb is beyond shameful and political terrorism by BJP Tripura goons. Time is near. People of Tripura will answer,” said Abhskek Banerjee.
Trinamul Congress state general secretary and party’s spokesperson Kunal Ghosh today condemned the attack on Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Deb. He said this incident is evident that BJP is fast losing ground in Tripura as people of Tripura are accepting Trinamul Congress as the main Opposition to BJP.
He also said many states who want to fight BJP are in contact with Trinamul chief Mamata Banerjee and party’s national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee.
Similarly, in Goa, Trinamul Congress will fight BJP alone and chief minister Mamata Banerjee will meet Goa’s former Congress chief minister Luziniho Falerio and others who recently joined Trinamul Congress in Goa.
