The incident occurred at Sikra under Chapra police station limits in Nadia.

Nur Islam Sheikh, a BJP Mondol president of the party’s Minority Cell in Chapra alleged that a group of Trinamul Congress workers threatened him on dire consequences and tried to cut soil from his farm land.

“They tried to capture my farm land since I belong to the BJP. Three to four months ago, I submitted a letter to the IC, Chapra informing him that my farm lands might be captured by the TMC workers. Today, when I went to the Chapra police station, they didn’t pay any heed to resolve the matter,” said Nur Islam Sheikh.

When asked, Rukbanur Rahman, TMC MLA from Chapra said, “It is a civil matter. I don’t know what has happened there. But, I can assure you that no TMC workers will go to capture anyone’s farm land for only because of the reason that the man belongs to the BJP. I will look into this matter soon.”
