KRISHNAGAR, 4 JULY: Trinamul Congress Chhatra Parishad (TMCP) on Sunday held a symbolic protest at petrol pump in Krishnagar, demanding a complete roll back of fuel price hike.
The town president of the students’ organ, Sujay Haldar held the Modi-led Central government responsible for the price hike of fuel and demanded the government should stop imposing excise duty on petrol and diesel.
To protest against the fuel price hike, which has already been crossed century per liter for petrol in Krishnagar, the students brought a horse cart and put a motor cycle on it.
Haldar said, “It’s our symbolic protest. We are unable to ride motorbike as the petrol price has already crossed Rs 100. So, we have decided to put the motorcycle on the horse cart.”
In the protest agitation, Trinamul Congress Town president Sibnath Chowdhury and TMCP Nadia district president Samrat Kar and Town Trinamul Youth Congress president Tanmay Ghosh were also present.
