The district magistrate and district election officer, Arun Prasad, along with the additional district magistrate (Zilla Parishad) Anup Dutta, presented appreciation letters, certificates, and mementoes to the top twenty participants. Speaking at the event, Mr. Prasad expressed his delight over the enthusiastic response the app received from the residents of Nadia. “The gaming app based on election-oriented awareness garnered overwhelming support from Nadia residents. Initially restricted to local residents, the app was opened to participants from other districts in the last ten days before the election date due to high demand,” he said.

The ‘Nadia Not Out’ quiz, supported by engaging social media promotions, successfully increased the awareness levels of general electors regarding various facets of the democratic process. The interactive nature of the app ensured active engagement, with short reels on social media capturing the attention of tech-savvy young voters. This strategic use of social media as a communication tool resulted in significant reach and engagement.

The numbers speak for the initiative’s success, with 31,540 app downloads and 5,609 participants in the quiz. Mr. Prasad noted that the app’s design made it an ideal SVEEP tool by combining electoral education with an enjoyable activity, thus fostering greater participation in the democratic process.

In addition to the top twenty rankers, other participants who scored above 100 points will also receive appreciation letters and certificates. The list of these participants will be published on the official Twitter account of the District Magistrate and District Election Officer, Nadia (@DM_NADIA_WB). Eligible participants can collect their certificates from their respective Block Development Offices between July 15 and July 20, 2024. Municipal residents can contact the office of the Sub-Divisional Officer, while residents of Krishnagar Municipality may visit the District Election Section at Nadia Collectorate.

The ceremony marked the closing program of the ‘Nadia Not Out’ app, highlighting the district administration’s commitment to promoting electoral awareness and participation.
