Winter Skincare: 7 home made magic and some tips for healthy skin in winter

KRISHNAGAR, 10 DEC: It’s December and we are at the threshold of Winter, a season of festival and get together where it’s a dire necessity that you must look dashing. But the dry skin, flaky appearance, loss of moisture pricks like thorns. As the temperature goes down, our skin loses natural oil balance and turns rough and unmanageable. There are some most common signs and symptoms of unhealthy skin:

Flakiness or scaliness, Redness, Rough texture, Itchiness, Raw irritated skin, Cracks in your skin and Stinging or burning.

Hopefully dry winter skin isn’t inevitable. By making some changes in daily skincare regimen and habits, by using some homely ingredients you may be able to keep your skin looking vibrant and supple.

Here are some homely remedies for your glowing skin –

1. Skin hydration with honey and sugar scrub.

Honey is a magical ingredient used for getting back moisture in skin with a healthy glow. 

Process:

Blend some honey and sugar into a paste and use it as a scrub. Turning skin from harshness, it exfoliates and moisturizes as well.

2. Yogurt, Honey facial mask:

Process

Put 1/4 (a quarter) cup of yogurt with 1 tablespoonful of honey, 1 tablespoonful of milk powder and mix it well. Leave this mixture on your face for 10 minutes and wash it away with luke warm water. For best results it must be used once in a week.

Yogurt is natural ingredient to restore the lost glow of a dull looking face. It also removes dead skin cells. Honey acts as a skin protector against the harmful UV rays and ageing.

3. Lemon/ Tamarind cleanser: 

Process

Apply lemon juice directly in your face, keep it for 5 minutes and wash it off. In case of tamarind, apply it’s pulp for a couple of minutes on your face. It helps to clean the dead cells. 

Tamarind reduces acne and ensures glowing skin. Lemon is a natural astringent and antiseptic solution for skin breakout.

4. Banana/ Papaya/ Avocado paste:

Process

Make a thick paste of one ripe banana, half a papaya and one avocado. Apply this paste on the face, neck and other dry areas and leave it for 15 minutes. Wash it off with luke warm water.

The creamy texture of this paste not only moisturizes the skin but also lightens the scars.

5. Almond oil is a natural home remedy for unhealthy skin.

6. A quick mixture of honey and rose water provides instant glow to rough skin.

7. Aloe Vera is a blessing for rough skin. It provides essential nourishments to the skin and makes it smooth and glowing.

As it is a matter of skin, then only applying different types of masks won’t help to the farthest extent. Proper diet is also necessary. 

Here are some simple but helpful tips:

Drink plenty of water and seasonal fruit juice to keep body well hydrated. Make sure packaged fruit juice is Not recommend at all.

Milk, ghee, honey is the food chant nourishes the skin.

A big No to junk foods will keep you healthy.

Ice creams, milkshakes should be avoided.

Fresh fruits and vegetables will make you younger for long……..
