KRISHNAGAR, 4 AUGUST: A 30-year-old woman was injured after one of her neighbours threw acid on her when she was in her house at Mayakole under Dhubulia police station limits in Nadia.
The incident occurred on 31 July while a case has been registered tonight.
According to the complaint, the woman had argument with the accused youth Avajit Ghosh, a neighbourer on Saturday as the latter used to hurl offensive words against the woman. On that night, he went to her house and threw acid on her face.
The woman, who suffered facial injuries, was immediately taken to the Saktinagar district hospital in Krishnagar. Today, the attending doctor referred her to a Kolkata hospital as her injuries are critical.
When asked, the Dhubulia police said a case has been registered against two persons based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s family members.
