According to police reports, the fraudsters would post enticing job advertisements online, complete with contact numbers to lure unsuspecting job seekers. When interested candidates reached out, the fraudsters would provide them with counterfeit application forms, demanding money under various pretexts such as registration charges, security deposits, and other fees.

The criminals primarily targeted young individuals seeking employment opportunities, exploiting their desperation to swindle them out of significant sums of money. The police, acting on credible intelligence, conducted a search operation that led to the recovery of a substantial number of SIM cards, bank passbooks, mobile phones, and other incriminating evidence from the possession of the accused.

“The operation was meticulously planned and executed,” said a senior officer from the Cyber Crime PS. “We have recovered multiple pieces of evidence that will strengthen the case against these fraudsters.”

Legal proceedings have been initiated against the arrested individuals. The police have also issued a public advisory, urging people to be cautious when responding to online job advertisements and to verify the authenticity of such offers before making any payments.
