Kalyani University’s center for NET/SET coaching and career counseling facilitates student success

KRISHNAGAR, 5 FEB: In response to the resounding success of the previous year, Kalyani University has once again commenced its coaching classes and career counseling sessions for the National Eligibility Test (NET) and State Eligibility Test (SET). The establishment of the Center for NET/SET Coaching and Career Counseling last year, in line with the persistent demands of the students, has proven to be a pivotal resource for aspiring academics.

With a comprehensive curriculum catering to Science, Arts, Education, Management, and Engineering disciplines, the center has already witnessed an overwhelming response, with around two hundred students enrolling for coaching. Notably, the program has attracted students not only from Kalyani University but also from various other universities within and outside the state.

Highlighting the significance of qualifying NET or SET examinations for pursuing teaching positions in colleges and universities, as well as for securing research opportunities in higher education with fellowships, the center provides tailored coaching for both papers. The coaching program covers a wide array of subjects ranging from languages like Bengali, English, Sanskrit, and Hindi to disciplines such as Sociology, Economics, Management, Life Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics, among others.

The inauguration of the coaching program was graced by esteemed personalities including Prof. Nandakumar Ghosh, former director of IQAC and senior teacher of the Physics department, Nilanjan Chowdhury, Accounts Officer of the University, and Prakash Burman, Informatics Officer of Kalyani Block Development Office under the West Bengal Government. Prof. Sujaykumar Mondal, Chairman of the Coaching Center, expressed optimism about the impact of the program, emphasizing the provision of free training to facilitate accessibility, particularly for students hailing from rural areas.

Prof. Nandakumar Ghosh lauded the initiative, citing significant benefits accrued by the students through the coaching center. A sentiment echoed by successful candidates like Aparna Nath, who qualified in Philosophy, and Aman Pal, who achieved success in the English subject. Both expressed gratitude towards the coaching center for its instrumental role in their success and expressed aspirations for further academic pursuits, including junior research fellowships.

Feedback from students underscores the exemplary management of the coaching center, with many acknowledging its pivotal role in providing crucial support and guidance for their future endeavors in academia.

As the results of the SET and CSIR NET exams are awaited, the anticipation for further success among students remains high, with the coaching center poised to continue its commendable efforts in nurturing academic excellence and empowering aspiring scholars for future challenges and opportunities.
